Saturday was the perfect day for the inaugural Fall Fun at the Forest sponsored by Chick-fil-A at Carolina Forest. Hundreds of Carolina Forest neighbors gathered together and played games, went on a hayride, painted pumpkins, slid and bounced around the inflatables and were entertained by kids from Carolina Forest Community Church.
An ambulance, firetruck and even the boat used for water rescue were on display for all to check out. The Shriner clowns walked around as children enjoyed games provided by Carolina Forest businesses. Old-fashioned games of chance were very popular. Everything from bobbing for apples on a string to the bean bag toss into the pumpkin games were available.
All of the proceeds went to Cure In Our Lifetime, a nonprofit organization that offers help for local cancer patients. The Cure in Our Lifetime volunteers were on hand, offering information about their organization and some games for the kids too. Cancer survivor, Susan Branstrom, was thrilled to see so many local people having a good time while supporting a great cause at the same time!
Anne Seay, the marketing director for Chick-fil-A at Carolina Forest, had a vision for a local fall festival and decided to go for it. She said, "Fall Fun at the Forest was a great opportunity to embrace the community experience. We were very pleased with the day. Many thanks to all of our booth sponsors and to all of those who attended. We look forward to next year." It was a wonderful day, and the community support exceeded everyone's expectations.
