Carolina League loses to California League in All-Star game

LAKE ELSINORE, Calif. -- The Lancaster JetHawks' Jon Gaston led off the 10th inning with a home run Tuesday night to lead the California Leaguers to a 2-1 victory over the Carolina Leaguers in the California League-Carolina League All-Star Game.

Gaston, who had struck out in his previous three at-bats, earned MVP honors for his heroics.

The Myrtle Beach Pelicans' Cody Johnson went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts. Myrtle Beach's other player voted to the game, Jason Heyward, did not see action.
