Myrtle Beach freshman Josh Iseman posted the fastest time of any area runner, finishing the 3.1-mile course at Spring Valley High School in Columbia in 17 minutes, 50.41 seconds to finished ninth and lead the Seahawks to a third-place finish Saturday in the Class AAA Lower State cross country meet.

Four Hiton Head runners finished in the top six, paced by race winner Jack Felix, who finished in 16:26.68, and runner-up Jack Manesiotis (16:26.96) as the Seahawks won the meet.

Georgetown senior Sammy Livingston finished 13th (18:10.90), Socastee sophomore Patrick Gardiner was 15th (18:21.11) and Georgetown's Benjamin Grant was 16th (18:25.66).

Georgetown was seventh overall, Socastee was eighth, St. James was 12th and North Myrtle Beach was 16th.

North Myrtle Beach was fourth overall in the girls race, led by eighth-grader Benjanin Jennerette, who finished seventh in 20:36.57. Myrtle Beach's Paige Cox was 11th in 20:59.59.

Hiton Head had three runners in the top 5, including race winner Sara Manesiotis, the older sister of the boy's runner-up, who posted a time of 18:53.44, as the school swept the titles.

Myrtle Beach's girls were fifth, St. James was 10th and Socastee was 11th.

In Class AA, Waccamaw's girls finished third overall, paced by freshman Grace Barnett, who finished seventh in 2:55.61.

Aynor finished seventh, Class A Green Sea Floyds was 13th and Loris was 15th.

Results from the Class AA boys race were not available.

In the Class AAAA meet at James Island, Carolina Forest's Zach Hensel finished in second place (17:13) and teammate Matthew Nierwienski was 10th (18:08) as the Panthers finished in fourth place.

In the girls race, McKenzie West was 15th (21:20) as Carolina Forest finished in ninth overall.

College women's soccer(At) Coastal Carolina 1, Winthrop 0 | Anna Tupy scored the game-winner in the second half to lead the Chants (7-11-2, 5-3-1 Big South) past Winthrop (5-10-3, 2-5-2) on Senior Day.

It was the fifth win in seven games for CCU, which will meet Winthrop in the opener of the Big South Tournament that begins Nov. 5.

College men's soccerCoastal Carolina 2, (at) UNC-Asheville1 | Coastal Carolina (6-2-6, 3-0-3 Big South) won its second straight and extended its unbeaten streak to 10 with a win over UNC Asheville.

Matt Schroeder and Ross Kelly scored the Chanticleer goals.

Women's college cross countryWINSTON-SALEM, N.C. | Coastal Carolina finished third at the Big South Cross Country Championship at Shady Oaks Kennel.

Liberty won the title and VMI's Hannah Granger took individual honors with a time of 18:25 in the 6k race.

Liberty posted 47 points, followed by VMI (66 points) and Coastal Carolina (76).

Coastal's Shelby Donahue (sixth, 19:06) and Janel Reeves (seventh, 19:09) earned all-conference honors.

Other CCU finishers--Maranie Staab (20th, 19:45), Theresa Schamberger (21st, 19:49), Christian Johnson (22nd, 19:51), Rindi Wood (39th, 20:43), Jessica Dennison (44th, 21:00), Emma Hulburd (50th, 21:24), Peggy Busbee (62nd, 22:19) and Kathryn Zenowitz (69th, 23:21).

Men's college cross countryWINSTON-SALEM, N.C. | Coastal Carolina placed third in the Big South Cross Country Championship, finishing the race with a total of 59 points, while Liberty won the meet with 33 points and host High Point came in second with 46 points.

Jamie McCarthy led CCU with a fourth-place finish in 25:49. Kyle Kling followed in fifth place with a time of 25:56 and Max Hacker was sixth in 26:10. All three earned all-conference honors, while Kling also was part of the all-conference academic team.

Other CCU finishers--Ryan Caputo (20th, 27:15), Jarod Williams (24th, 27:28), Josh Tormasi (37th, 28:00), David Mead (50th, 29:06) and Spencer Lange (70th, 31:26).

College volleyballCoastal Carolina 3, (at) Radford 1 | Coastal Carolina (15-11, 8-4 Big South) rallied to beat Radford (12-18, 2-12), 3-1 (18-25, 25-18, 28-26, 25-22).
