Podpicks for November 12, 2009
This week the Pod Picks guest chair gets a little celebrity boost as it is occupied by Matthew Shafer, but you probably know him better as former Kid Rock deejay Uncle Kracker, who recommends three of his current faves you can download (legally, of course) to your iPod or other personal media device.
"Jolene" by Zac Brown Band
Definitely one of the most honest songs I've ever heard. In a world of songs that mean nothing to the listener, this is a song that grabs you by the throat and keeps you listening.
"Times Like These" by Kid Rock
Here's a song that isn't even fully written or recorded or released, but I've seen Kid Rock perform this song live a few times and seen people crying (literally). Beautiful song.
"Save Me San Francisco" by Train
I happen to be out on tour with Train right now and this is the most played song on my bus. Awesome! Feel good music, hands down.
You can catch Uncle Kracker with Train on Saturday night at the House of Blues, 4640 U.S. 17 S., Barefoot Landing, North Myrtle Beach.
