Nike Golf's Crush ball

Nike Golf has designed a new golf ball that the company says provides distance and precision. The Crush ball combines a softer compression core, optimized cover design and new DMC coating to reduce unwanted side-spin and maximize ball velocity for straighter, longer distance. The larger and softer, high energy core delivers high velocity and feel. The Directional Micro-Composite coating (DMC) is the first of its kind: a smart coating that is designed to lower spin for driver shots that would normally slice or hook.

The mid-tier price is optimized for driver head speeds of 80 to 95 mph with a compression of 63, and the newly designed thin, two-piece ionomer blend cover is designed to enhance greenside feel and playability while increasing ball speed and maximizing distance off the tee. The ball features a 312-dimple design that produces lift for longer carry and consistent ball flight. The ball becomes available Nov. 1 with a suggested retail price of $30.

Cobra Golf's ZL driver

Cobra Golf unveils what is says is its most innovative, highest-performing driver ever, the ZL driver, which is designed to help all golfers achieve more distance. ZL stands for Zero Limits. To optimize ball speed and distance, Cobra engineers utilized Advanced Multi-Material Construction in which a lightweight, high-strength carbon fiber crown and sole insert are integrated into a titanium clubhead body and clubface. The titanium clubface utilizes Cobra's patented Milled Rhombus laser-welded face insert plus a new, thinner perimeter area.

The ZL also features a swingweight screw that helps shift the center of gravity toward the heel, to help provide draw bias ball flight while maintaining a square clubface alignment. The club comes standard with a longer 46-inch Aldila VooDoo shaft. Cobra's exclusive Adjustable Flight Technology features an adjustable hosel that golfers can set to one of three face angles (open, neutral or closed) to provide a simple and quick way to optimize their personal ball flight. The Cobra ZL is available in lofts of 8.5, 9.5, 10.5 and 11.5 degrees. It will be available Nov. 1 with a suggested retail price of $425. Visit www.cobragolf.com or call 1-800-555-9282.
