After Charleston Southern's game-clinching touchdown with 4:32 left, Coastal Carolina's mascot, Chauncey, began slowly walking toward the end zone of Buccaneer Field.
For much of the season it appeared that Coastal Carolina's defense had improved after struggling in 2007 and 2008. Perhaps the unit showed its true stripes the last two weeks.
