Turning point | Pennsbury took a 45-43 lead on a Mike Aviles' layup with 8:13 left in the second half. However, the Falcons would not score again for 6:19, allowing the Apaches to ice a third-place finish with a 13-0 run.

Game summary | With the exception of Friday night's semifinal loss, Arlington Country Day has seemed like the team most capable of exploding at any moment during the 2006 Beach Ball. The Apaches showed that ability again in the second half on Saturday. They switched to a pressure defense that forced a bevy of turnovers down the stretch, creating easy baskets during the game's last eight minutes. Although Pennsbury shot eight percent better than the Apaches, it took 19 less shots. Devon Lamb capped a strong tournament for the Apaches with 27 points, nine rebounds and six steals.

Quoting Pennsbury coach Frank Sciolla | "[The Apaches] weren't even trying to force turnovers, they were just trying to slow us down. We were a little bit tentative, and we were a little bit undisciplined, too When we made them run their offense, we were fine."

Quoting Arlington Country Day coach Rex Morgan | "We switched up and went to a half-court trap. We got some steals out of it, and they missed some shots that they were making earlier. We tried to wear them down, and I think we did that a little bit also."
