Eagles place LB Gaither on IR

The Philadelphia Eagles placed linebacker Omar Gaither on injured reserve Wednesday and signed running back P.J. Hill from the New Orleans Saints' practice squad.

Gaither suffered a Lisfranc sprain in his foot in the team's 13-9 loss to Oakland two weeks ago and will miss the rest of the regular season. The fourth-year player recorded 30 tackles and 1 1/2 sacks in five games this season.

Hill was an undrafted free agent this season out of Wisconsin. He has yet to appear in an NFL game.
