Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, Saints safety Darren Sharper and Bears kick returner Johnny Knox were chosen as the NFC's top players for the month of October.

Rodgers was named offensive player of the month after leading Green Bay to a 2-1 record. The QB averaged a league-high 329.3 yards per game and was also tops amongst his peers in passer rating (123.9). His 155.4 passer rating in Week 7 against Cleveland set a franchise record. It is Rodgers' first monthly award in his career.

Sharper was selected as the defensive player of the month as he helped the Saints stay perfect on the year. The veteran picked off three passes in October, returning two for touchdowns, including a 99-yard return in Week 4. His six interceptions lead the league this season. Sharper won his only other monthly honor back in 2005.

Knox nabbed special teams honors thanks to an NFC-leading 28.9-yard return average for Chicago, including a 102-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in Week 4 against the Lions. The rookie also caught 12 passes for 107 yards with a TD during the period.
