The National Hockey League suspended Dallas Stars forward Steve Ott two games without pay on Tuesday for an incident over the weekend.
Ott hit St. Louis Blues defenseman Carlo Colaiacovo on Saturday with an attempted hip check, which instead caused the backliner to flip into the air and land on his back in an awkward manner.
No penalty was assessed on the play, but Colaiacovo eventually left the game with an upper-body injury.
Ott, who was previously suspended for one game last February for instigating a postgame fight with then-Ducks forward Travis Moen, is not eligible to return until this Saturday when the Stars take on the Predators in Nashville.
