New York Rangers forward Marian Gaborik will sit out Wednesday's game against the New York Islanders with an undisclosed injury.
Gaborik, who has 10 goals and eight assists over 12 games this season, left in the third period of Monday's 5-2 win over the Phoenix Coyotes. He exited the game after colliding with Phoenix's Petr Prucha and sat out Tuesday's practice and didn't skate with the team on Wednesday.
While no details of the injury have been disclosed, the team said it is not related to any of the previous hip and groin ailments that have plagued the skilled winger throughout his career.
To take his spot on the roster, the team recalled forward P.A. Parenteau from Hartford of the American Hockey League.
