Rangers recall Parenteau from minors

The New York Rangers recalled forward P.A. Parenteau from Hartford of the American Hockey League on Friday and assigned Dane Byers to the same club.

The 26-year-old Parenteau has appeared in two games for the Rangers this season and notched his first career NHL goal against the Islanders on October 28. At the AHL level, the Quebec native is tied for the league lead with 10 goals and his 20 points rank him second.

Byers has played in five contests for the Rangers this season and registered his first NHL point with a goal against Minnesota on October 30. He has a pair of goals and five points to go along with 26 penalty minutes in nine games with Hartford this year.
