Participants hold American flags and red glow sticks on Thursday, September 11, 2008 during a memorial service on the beach near Main Street in North Myrtle Beach as part of the city's proclamation to honor the heroes and victims of September 11, 2001. Several hundred turned out for the event despite the rainy weather that was hosted by the city, The North Myrtle Beach Lions Club and the veteranŐs motorcycle group Rolling Thunder.
