Georgetown's Kinard Gadsden-Gilliard has decided to focus on basketball in college instead of football.

The 6-foot-5 Gadsden-Gilliard signed last week to play basketball at Roane State Community College in Harriman, Tenn., where he plans to redshirt his first season before playing the next season at the school. He will then look for a major college program to transfer to and will have three years of eligibility remaining.

Gadsden-Gilliard was an All-State selection in basketball as a junior and senior. He was the Toast of the Coast Boys Basketball Player of the Year and Region VI-AAA Player of the Year as a junior. As a senior, the forward averaged 22 points, 14 rebounds, four assists and two blocks per game, and was selected for the Carolinas Basketball Classic, which is a collection of some of the top seniors in South Carolina and North Carolina.

Gadsden-Gilliard was also a standout in football and played for the South in the North-South All-Star game as a senior. He had an offer to play football at South Carolina State, but never signed with the school.
