Harassment | On Dec. 14 in Carolina Forest, a woman, 22, said her ex-boyfriend, 20, had been calling and harassing her. She said they dated for about a year and had been broken up for about a year. He has a history of violence. She asked him to stop calling her, and he left messages saying that he knew where she worked and lived, that he would rob her and her boyfriend, and that he is not afraid to go to jail.
Malicious damage to property | On Dec. 12 in Carolina Forest, a female said an unknown subject threw a substance like paint thinner on her vehicle, causing damage to most of the sides. The paint bubbled and peeled. She said she did not see anyone do it but added that she has an ongoing custody battle with the father of her child.
Financial transaction card fraud | On Dec. 12 in Carolina Forest, a female victim said someone had been using her credit card without her permission and had withdrawn $2,700. She keeps her card and identification in her fanny pack, which she leaves in her office, and the only person she thought could have gotten the card out and put it back in is an employee.
Civil dispute/simple assault and battery | On Dec. 11 in the Carolina Forest area, a woman, 43, and her son, 20, had a fight after he came to her house to pick up a dog. She said he gave her the dog. He said he only left it for her to care for temporarily because he could not take care of it at the time. She said he pushed his way into the house, struck her on the chest twice and slapped her face. He said they got into an argument at the door and she grabbed him, pulled him in, closed the door, slapped him in the mouth and on the back a couple of times and would not let him leave. He said he slapped her in self-defense. He said her roommate unlocked the door and his friend went in and took the dog outside. Witnesses, who did not see all of the fight, did see him slap her.
