Feb. 28 was an evening of glitz and glamour at Ocean Bay Elementary School. It was the school's Third Annual Father-Daughter Dance, and it was more than well-attended - over 480 attendees.
The theme varies each year. This year's theme was a Red Carpet Event, and the girls and fathers certainly took it to heart.
Girls from kindergarten to fifth grade enjoyed pulling out all the stops when it came to dressing for the occasion. Some girls enjoyed makeovers from the pre-teen store Justice. Of course the pride and joy was visible on every father's face throughout the evening.
The dancers began arriving at 5:30 p.m. and enjoyed dinner from Logan's Roadhouse.
The decor was top notch and transformed the gym area into a little piece of Hollywood right here in Carolina Forest with help from Party Maker, One Stop Party Shop and Hertz Equipment Rental.
After dinner the fathers and daughters danced the night away to sounds by DJ Tony D.
The music varied from today's dance hits to hits of the '70s - which all of the dads seemed to enjoy - and of course a few just for the fathers and daughters to enjoy, such as "Butterfly Kisses," etc.
To say the evening was a success would be an understatement. The girls each felt like the belle of the ball, and of course, in each father's eyes, that is exactly what they were.
It was a night they will all remember, I'm sure.
A big thank you to all of the sponsors and volunteers who made the event possible!
