Storm names for 2009 season

The National Hurricane Center uses six rotating lists of storm names, and as storms strengthen, they are named in alphabetical order from the list. Names of severe storms -- Hugo, Katrina, Floyd -- are retired and replaced on the list with new names. Here are the storm names for 2009:
