Teen's burning grips Fla., nation
Michael Brewer loves his skateboard, SpongeBob and the tree swing in his front yard. Now the 15-year-old, whose family calls him Mikey, has burns over two-thirds of his body and is fighting to live after authorities say five other teens - some of whom were at his house to play a month ago - doused him in rubbing alcohol and flicked a lighter.
Authorities said the boys had a dispute over a video game that escalated with the attempted theft of a bicycle belonging to Mikey's father. The boys accused in the attack are in a juvenile detention center, and Mikey is in a hospital, unable to speak and fighting for his life.
"It's certainly beyond the realm of anything normal," said Sgt. Steve Feeley, one of the Broward County sheriff's detectives investigating the case. "It's scary. It's scary that these kids would do that."

Rodgers, Sharper, Knox capture NFC monthly awards
Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, Saints safety Darren Sharper and Bears kick returner Johnny Knox were chosen as the NFC's top players for the month of October.
Rodgers was named offensive player of the month after leading Green Bay to a 2-1 record. The QB averaged a league-high 329.3 yards per game and was also tops amongst his peers in passer rating (123.9). His 155.4 passer rating in Week 7 against Cleveland set a franchise record. It is Rodgers' first monthly award in his career.
Sharper was selected as the defensive player of the month as he helped the Saints stay perfect on the year. The veteran picked off three passes in October, returning two for touchdowns, including a 99-yard return in Week 4. His six interceptions lead the league this season. Sharper won his only other monthly honor back in 2005.
