The Carolina Forest area was alive with examples of creativity this week.

Carolina Forest Elementary School provided a terrific example of making lemonade out of lemons. Disappointment at having to attend school on Memorial Day to make up a wildfire-related absence turned into a celebration of the real meaning of the day.

Students, staff and parents took the opportunity to honor those who protected them from those recent wildfires as well as those who serve the country in the Armed Forces.

Creativity took an artistic turn at Ocean Bay Elementary, where students had a chance to sample everything from seagrass basket weaving to cartooning at the annual arts day.

And master gardener Debbie Menchek provides tips on gardening creativity designed for those without a lot of time to devote to such things.

We want to hear from you with other examples of creativity or activity in your communities as we head into summer. Please share your good news with us.
