Seattle Sounders FC midfielder Freddie Ljungberg was voted Major League Soccer's Player of the Month for October, it was announced on Thursday.

Seattle earned the No. 3 seed in the Western playoff bracket by finishing the season 12-7-11 with 47 points. The team will face the second-seeded Houston Dynamo in the Western Conference semifinal series.
