This hole turns left around a large lake from tee to green. The 537-yard par-5s length, a putting surface that nestles against the bulkheaded lake on the left, and a pot bunker in front of the green make it a three-shot hole for most.

The hole is 507 from the blue tee, 486 from the white, 454 from the green, 423 from the red and 366 from the gold. As the tee boxes move back around the lake they require more carry over water, and wind coming off the lake can be a factor.

Mounds run the length of the fairway on the right, there's a group of bunkers on the right beginning 65 yards from the green, and finding long and deep sod-stacked bunkers amidst mounds on the right of the undulating green could be devastating with water lurking on the other side.

quotes
"This hole has surely ruined many a good front nine. The tee shot must be perfectly placed to give a good shot at going for the green in two. However, any thoughts of attempting such a feat are met with water left, huge craters filled with sand and out-of-bounds right, and a small tiered green. It is best to eat some humble pie and lay up to a wedge to have the best chance at birdie or par."
Dennis Nicholl
"A great par-5. You must hit a good tee shot to the right side of the fairway and second shot to the right. Water runs along the left all the way. If possible, leave your approach shot below the hole. Deep bunkers lurk along the right side."
Marty Ekster
