North Myrtle Beach's Main Street keeps summer alive with the Endless Summer Festival Saturday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
The free festival features performances by the Fantastic Shakers, Sea Cruz and the Catalinas throughout the day and it all opens up with a concert by the local Christian contemporary rock band Soul'D Out.
"Since the concerts don't begin until noon, we're going to have Soul'D Out perform around 10 a.m.," said Charlene Lynam, North Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce events director. "We want to give them some exposure because we try to help out the local talent."
The Endless Summer Festival, which has gone by several names including Indian Summer and Carolina Heritage, goes back to its roots and focuses on beach music this year.
"We're celebrating beach music because that's what North Myrtle Beach is all about," Lynam said. "All of the shag clubs are in North Myrtle Beach and it's where SOS takes place.
Sea Cruz plays a variety of music, but they are a great beach band as well."
In addition to the music, the family-friendly festival features a kid's area with arts and crafts, carnival rides, face painting and camel rides. Dance troupes showcase their talent on the community stage and the Chicora Regional Car Club returns with a variety of antique cars.
Plenty of food vendors will be on hand selling turkey legs, barbecue, Philly cheese steak sandwiches and fried banana pudding.
North Myrtle Beach's McLean Park hosts Howl-O-Scream from 5-8 p.m. following the Endless Summer Festival and features free hay rides, games, inflatables, trick or treating and a magic show.
