Travinia Italian Kitchen
This week we stop in for happy hour at Travinia Italian Kitchen, located at The Market Common. With its chic décor and relaxing atmosphere, Travinia is an ideal place to enjoy a glass of wine and chat with friends before dinner.
Located immediately to the left inside the entrance, the bar is a focal point for the restaurant. A large glass window, acting as the back drop of the bar, allows for patrons to peek at shoppers and tourists traveling down Deville Street. Curious people-watchers will have to sneak a peek through the wide array of liquor bottles that line the window on three glass shelves.
The bar itself differs from your regular run of the mill bar. The bartenders and servers, dressed head to toe in black, serve you from a slightly recessed area. The multi-colored granite bar top is situated at table level, while dining chairs dressed in orange and dark brown hues sit abreast to it. This angle creates a prime view for watching the two small flat panel televisions that hang from each corner of the bar.
The bar area spills out into the restaurant, and is very clean, simple, and elegant in its decor. Low lighting mixed with mahogany and orange hues add an overall swanky vibe to this Italian bistro.
During this happy hour visit, light jazz was playing in the background while couples sat and sipped selections of wine.
Happy Hour runs everyday from 4 - 8 p.m. in the bar area and specials include $2 drafts, and $1 discounted wine by the glass and well drinks. Travinia features a few other specials throughout the week during happy hour: on Sunday and Monday specialty martinis are half-price, on Tuesdays bottles of wine are discounted 25 percent, and Wednesdays feature half-price martinis.
Tips | Stop in on Wednesday and Thursday nights for live music, or stop by Friday night for some live jazz.
