Chamber gala recognizes leaders

Community leaders were recognized during the Conway Chamber of Commerce's President's Gala and annual meeting recently.

Winners were Rich and Sue White, Volunteer of the Year Award; Richard Lane, Outstanding Board Member of the Year; Robin Fowler, Youth Leader of the Year; Robyn Rabon, Woman of the Year; Steve Robertson, Man of the Year; Leslie McIver, the LaVerne H. Creel Lifetime Achievement Award; and Joe Holbert, Small Businessperson of the Year Award.

Heinz completes ROTC leadership course

Samuel B. Heinz graduated from the Army ROTC Leader Development and Assessment Course, also known as "Operation Warrior Forge," at Fort Lewis, Tacoma, Wash. He is the son of Ruth Hoppes of Salisbury, Md., and Robert Heinz of Conway.

Airman Clark completes basic training

Air Force Airman Robbie D. Clark graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. He is the son of Dale Clark of Hartsville and Susan Graham of Myrtle Beach.

Air Force Airman Dylan T. Sackett graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. He is the grandson of Larry Ward of Longs and a 2009 graduate of Loris High School.
