On Saturday morning, nearly 100 costumed dogs and their owners braved the drizzly Halloween weather to parade down Georgetown's Front Street as part of the St. Frances Animal Shelter Mutt Strut.

At 10:30 a.m., the rain stopped and participants enjoyed the walk from the corner of Front and King Streets to East Bay Park. In the park, sponsors and supporters greeted "strutters" with treats, beverages and humorous contests.

Participants and guests also could meet the nearly 20 adoptable pets who attended the festival under the loving care of their St. Frances volunteers.

In addition to donations in the form of Mutt Strut registration fees, the parade and festival was sponsored by Leader of the Pack, Linda Edwards State Farm Insurance, Agru America, Costco Wholesale, Edward Jones - Kent Vannier, Georgetown County Parks & Recreation, Island Floors LTD/FunSunStudio and Pet Galley.
