Bill Clark Homes wins Best of Show
Bill Clark Homes' Lake Murray model won the Best in Show award for The Horry Georgetown Home Builders Association 2009 New Home Parade.
This is the final weekend for the New Home Parade. Homes are open Friday, April 3 and Sunday, April 5, from 1 to 5 p.m. and on Saturday, April 4 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. A complete list of the homes in the parade, including directions and maps can be viewed on thesunnews.com in the New Home Parade magazine.
The awards were presented Thursday by the Horry Georgetown Home Builders Association during a banquet at the Crown Reef Resort.
The Lake Murray is a $351,966 home with 1,938 square feet of space in the gated Surfside Beach Club community. The home also won the builder association's award for its price category and the interior design award. Gail Farrell Designs is the decorator. The model is open daily. Call 215-2600.
A winner in both its price category and for interior design, the three-bedroom, single-family home by R.S. Parker Homes at The Lakes at Plantation Pines in Longs is priced at $180,565. Certified environmentally friendly by the U.S. Green Council and the Energy Star program, the Santee model at Southbury won the award for best single-family home in its category and for its interior design. Ameri Built Homes built the 1,884-square-foot home with a rear-entry garage, a long front porch and tons of street appeal. Inside, the three-bedroom home was decorated by RE/MAX Southern Lifestyles. Derrick Blanton Construction's Vintage model doubles as a green home and a model for Universal Design. The home, located at The Reserve at Forestbrook, is a three-bedroom home with a formal dining room, spacious gourmet kitchen, large sunroom and living room. In the $510,000 to $530,000 price category, the association awarded top honors to The Bella Fine model by Destiny Development. Priced at $529,900, the home is located in the gated Brighton Lakes community at Carolina Forest. For information on the home call 347-3484. A covered patio, and raised porches on the front and rear of the St. Helena model provide plenty of outdoor living space. The Tradewinds III by Arthur Rutenberg Homes won the Judges Award of Excellence. Located at Seville at Grande Dunes, the home's kitchen wall disappears for greater access to a fantastic outdoor pool and kitchen area, all protected by a screened enclosure. The Roseglen's exterior design plays on European themes while the entire house meets the National Association of Home Builder's silver standard for green building. In the multi-family category, three builders garnered awards for a variety of lifestyles.
The Alexander model at The Market Common took the top awards in its price category. This courtyard model is part of the new urban town home development on the former Myrtle Beach Air Force base. Priced at $240,000 the model is a two-story home with a detached garage and a 1,184-heated square-foot floor plan. Epcon Communities' Canterbury model at Stonewall Villas in Longs garnered the builder association awards in the $282,000 to $333,000 category while its sister model, the Ducal, won the award for best interior design.
