LITTLE RIVER -- Megan Johnson had 23 assists as North Myrtle Beach (20-6) rolled past Lake Marion 3-0 (25-9, 25-12, 25-9) in the first round of the Class AAA state playoffs.
The Chiefs will host the winner of the South Aiken-Marlboro Co. match at 6 p.m. Thursday.

(At) Bluffton 3, Socastee 0 | The Braves' Karly Klimas served 100 percent and had six assists and Audrey Polinski had four attacks for points, but it wasn't enough as Socastee lost 25-14, 25-10 and 25-6 to Bluffton in the first round of the Class AAA playoffs to finish the season with a 7-9 record.
Berkeley 3, (at) Carolina Forest 2 | The Panthers' lost in five games to the Stags in the first round of the Class AAAA playoffs. No other information was available.
Hilton Head 3, (at) Myrtle Beach 0 | Senior Ciara Edwards had 12 kills in a losing effort as the Seahawks (16-7) lost 25-21, 27-25 and 25-23 in the first round of the Class AAA playoffs.
(At) Battery Creek 3, St. James 2 | The Sharks took a 2-1 lead, but dropped the last two games as they lost 24-26, 25-23, 25-21, 19-25 and 9-15 in the first round of the Class AAA playoffs.
The Class AA playoffs began Monday. Waccamaw defeated Aynor 3-0 (25-15, 25-6, 25-18) and Dillon topped Andrews 3-0 (25-9, 25-11, 25-10).
Ashley Ridge travels to Waccamaw today at 6 p.m. for a second-round matchup.
In Class A, Carvers Bay lost to the Governor's School on Monday 16-25, 12-25, 25-17, 25-20 and 9-15.
High school girls tennisCarolina Forest's Class AAAA first-round playoff match at Berkeley was postponed by rain. The teams are scheduled to meet today at 5 p.m.
College men's soccer
Coastal Carolina's Matt Schroeder was named the Big South men's soccer player of the week.
Schroeder scored both of the Chanticleers' goals this week in a 1-1 tie against Presbyterian and a 1-0 overtime win over VMI. The Chanticleers play at UNC Asheville at 2 p.m. Saturday.
College volleyball
CHARLESTON | Coastal Carolina (14-11, 7-4 Big South) fell to Charleston Southern (12-14, 3-8), 3-1 (18-25, 25-17, 25-22, 27-25) on Tuesday.
The Chanticleers were led by Chelsy Kimes, who finished with 14 kills and 16 digs, recording her 13th double-double of the season.
CCU travels to Radford for a match Saturday before returning to Conway for its final two home contests.
