Southern Skyways has delayed its seasonal start from Myrtle Beach, canceling flights for nearly three weeks because of airline maintenance, a company executive said.
Southern Skyways was scheduled to begin flying from Myrtle Beach to six secondary destinations, such as Rockford, Ill., Charleston, W. Va., and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Pa., on May 21.
The company planned to use one aircraft along all those routes, executive vice president Cary Evans said.
Flights are pushed back until at least June 6. Customers will receive a full refund automatically, he said.
In 2007, the company carried 1,308 of the Myrtle Beach airport's more than 1.68 million passengers while flying one route.
