Nikkis Japanese Hibachi Steak House & Sushi Bar
Myrtle Beach
The lowdown | After an afternoon of shopping, we hit Nikkis Japanese Hibachi Steak House & Sushi Bar for happy hour this week to cash in on cheap drinks and sushi deals. Nikkis is located across from Dick's Sporting Goods and Books-A-Million at Coastal Grand Mall in Myrtle Beach. The Japanese joint is decorated with - shocker - things from Japan, including a gong and some intriguing items that are supposed to bring you good luck. Gold wallpaper lines the walls, along with scenic photos of the Land of the Rising Sun. Nikkis is split into two areas - the bar and the dining area. The dining area includes a dozen hibachi tables where your meal is cooked in front of you. In the lounge, you can snag a stool at the long, black quartz bar or choose to sit at a handful of high-top tables. Wooden shelves behind the bar hold an abundance of sake and liquor bottles. The menu includes appetizers, entrees, hibachi dinners and a plethora of sushi rolls. On Sundays, the menu is discounted 25 percent, and Nikkis offers 25 percent discounts on sushi rolls on Mondays and Wednesdays. Happy hour runs from 4-6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Deals include $2.25 domestic beers, $2.75 import beers and $3 house liquors. You can also get four sake bombs for $7 all day every day ... or try Nikkis specialty drink - the Blue-Orange Martini - for six bucks.
