The lowdown | If you're looking for sports, excellent food and drink specials, The Landing Restaurant and Sports Pub in Myrtle Beach is the place to be. That's where we hit for this week's happy hour review.

The Landing is an upscale sports bar, complete with nine big flat panel TVs, candles that sit on tables set with plates and utensils wrapped in a cloth napkin, and an impressive bar with liquors galore behind it. There's also a wine rack with an extensive collection to suit your preference.

The restaurant and sports bar has an upscale feel, yet is relaxed enough to kick back and watch sports games. All types of clientele should feel welcome - from business persons to construction workers, families and ages young to old.

For seating, there are more then a dozen four-person tables, half a dozen high-top tables and a dozen bar stools. The tables and chairs, as well as the comfortable bar stools (with a back) are made of dark cherry wood. Two walls are lined with windows, complimenting the open feel of the establishment.

When you walk in, you'll be in awe at the plethora of sports memorabilia hanging on the walls. The Landing has pictures of stadiums and autographed photos of famous players, and a collection of gear used by your favorite professional players, including golf balls, boxing gloves, football helmets and baseballs, such as one signed by the legendary Willie Mays.

As for happy hour, it's 4-7 p.m. Monday through Friday. Specials include $3 rail liquor, $2 domestic bottles, $3.50 house wines, and all imports and domestic drafts less than $3. Appetizer deals include Steamed Gulf Shrimp, Baked Clams, Chili Cheese Skins and Steamed Mussels for less than $5. You can also cash in on drink and food deals on Sundays and Mondays during pro football action.

Tips | The Landing Restaurant and Sport Pub is roughly a mile from the airport, across from Coastal Grand Mall in Myrtle Beach, where the Rose Garden restaurant used to be. Take U.S. 501, Grissom Parkway or Harrelson Blvd. to get there.

Find it | 407 Seaboard St., Myrtle Beach. Visit www.thelandingrestaurantmb.com or call 213-1774.
