THE LOWDOWN | If you're looking for a spot to sit outside, watch sports or play bar games while taking advantage of happy hour specials, the Back Deck Bar & Grill in Myrtle Beach is calling your name. The bonus - it doesn't matter what time you stop in - happy hour is all day every day.
That's right ... from 11 a.m. until 2 a.m., you get happy hour prices at the Back Deck, such as $1.50 draft beer, $5 pitchers and $3 house drinks. Domestic beer bottles and Coronas only cost two bucks, and bartenders keep it on ice to keep it cold and refreshing.
The establishment's name gives it away as there is a huge back deck with an outdoor bar and eight large picnic tables with umbrellas. The Back Deck's back deck overlooks Family Kingdom Amusement Park, so you can watch people ride the roller coaster and other amusement park rides during the summer season. You can even see the ocean from this locale.
Inside, there are more than a dozen high-top tables and barstools that surround the bar. Expect karaoke Thursdays through Saturdays. Also expect to see a full array of clientele in the relaxed atmosphere.
The Back Deck has bar games galore - including Golden Tee, Silver Strike, darts and two pool tables. If watching sports is more your style, you can view games on the 18 TVs scattered around the bar. The Back Deck has NFL ticket, so you can catch any team you'd like - but expect to see the Washington Redskins and Carolina Panthers on when they play - fans of those teams frequent the bar.
The menu includes appetizers, soups, salads, wings, sandwiches and a kids menu. Plus, the Back Deck offers daily lunch specials such as meatloaf, pork chops and burgers.
TIPS | Most of the lunch specials are $5 or less, and theysometimes last until 9 p.m. And don't forget - you can always enjoy cheap drinks - happy hour is all day every day.
