"Shuttle"
Filmed in that grainy-video-that-makes-you-feel-dirty-to-watch-it, “Shuttle” is gritty. Filmed without even one recognizable actor, but none are needed for this nail-biter. The bad guy is a very real guy, although a convincible, despicably horrible real guy. Again the setting is almost entirely in a confined space – a dark shuttle bus, loaded with strangers made to do different unlikely tasks to stay alive. Director, Edward Anderson, does great work with light – either the absence of it or the characters being bathed in harsh fluorescents. Anderson adds intense action with disturbing images with just a splash of dark humor. Predictably unpredictable, a tense film that also manages to do a lot with a little budget – take the ride, you will not be disappointed.
