Perhaps the biggest game in the still-young program's existence, Coach David Bennett's Coastal Carolina Chanticleers lock horns Saturday with in-state power Clemson on the Tigers' ominous-sounding home field, Death Valley. Kick off is at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. The game will be broadcast by ESPN360.com, and on local sports station(s) The Team, 93.9 FM, 93.7 FM, and 1050 AM. If you want to road-trip, tickets ($35) were still available at press-time. Call 347-TIXX or visit www.goccusports.com.

Trick or treat, smell our feet, give us something good to eat. ...Yes ladies and germs, it is that time to don costumes and live out your fantasies (no, we're not talking about a drag queen contest) as Halloween is upon us again. One of the area's biggest adult costume contests/parties is on tap again as Celebrity Square of Terror, hosted by local radio personality Mixin' Dixon, kicks off at 8 p.m. Saturday at Broadway at the Beach's Celebrity Square. Admission to the open-air Celebrity Square party is free, and if you're wearing a costume, you get in free to all of the nightlife district's clubs, too. A word of warning: the costume contest is serious biz-ness as the first place prize is $2,500. Celebrity Square is at Broadway at the Beach, bounded by U.S. 17 Bypass, Robert Grissom Parkway and 21st and 29th avenues North. Call 444-8032 or visit www.broadwayatthebeach.com. For other Halloween-related options, see page 25 for a round-up of local happenings

As potentially frightening as ghouls, ghosts, monsters and gremlins, the Christian Wrestling Association comes to Socastee Freewill Baptist Church on Halloween night for a smackdown in the name of the Lord, featuring a challenge match between the church's Pastor Darren Squires and pro 'rasslin legend Ivan "The Russian Bear'' Koloff. At least five other matches are promised on the card. There's a meet-and-greet session at 6 p.m. Saturday; the bell for the first match rings at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for ages 12 and younger. Socastee Freewill Baptist Church is at 8299 S.C. 707 (near the intersection of Holmestown Road), Myrtle Beach (between Surfside Beach and the Burgess Community). For more information, call 650-0121 or visit www.socasteefreewillbaptist.com

House of Blues hosts another of its local music showcases on Saturday, but this time with an All Hallows Eve-bent with Myrtle Beach Rocks - Halloween featuring Grand Strand-based rock acts Silenced, Shark Legs, The Wet Teens and Circles in Autumn. House of Blues is at 4640 U.S. 17 S., Barefoot Landing, North Myrtle Beach. Call 272-3000 or visit www.houseofblues.com.
