-

With Shinedown, known for songs such as "Save Me," "45," "Devour" and a cover of Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Simple Man,'' returning to the House of Blues on Tuesday, we caught up with bassist Eric Bass, who has South Carolina roots.

To find out about Shinedown's pre-show rituals, the band's most insane fan experiences and how Bass went from being a carpenter to playing bass for Shinedown listen to an online exclusive of Surge Art Director Abby Sink's conversation with him.

Shinedown, with opening acts Sick Puppies, Cycle of Pain and Adelita's Way at House of Blues in North Myrtle Beach, will perform on Tuesday. Tickets are $25. Doors open 6:45 p.m. and the show starts at 7:15 p.m. House of Blues is at 4640 U.S. 17 S., Barefoot Landing, North Myrtle Beach. Call 272-3000 or visit www.houseofblues.com.
